Adoption Timeline

  • 10 March 2007 – Orientation with homestudy agency

    17 March 2007 – Sent application to homestudy agency

    23 March 2007 – Reviewed list of necessary paperwork with agency rep. The paper chase begins!

    03 April 2007 – First meeting with social worker for homestudy

    17 April 2007 – Second visit with homestudy social worker. In-home visit.

    17 May 2007 – Last paperwork for homestudy sent to agency! Yahoooo!

    17 May 2007 – Third and final visit with homestudy social worker.
    12 June 2007 – Homestudy report sent to CIS
    13 July 2007 – Received I-171 Approval!!!.
    17 July 2007 – Notarized I-171 copies sent to our agency.
    16 August 2007 – Dossier to Vietnam! We're waitin', baby!
    14 November 2007 –REFERRAL!!
    It's a girl!!!
    18 December 2007 – USCIS in HCMC confirmed receipt of our I-600 form. Just waiting for final approval from them now so we can travel!
